The nearest Scottish Airports are at Glasgow and Edinburgh about ten and forty minutes drive by car, respectfully. Dundee has a small airport (mainly domestic flights) and is about ninety minutes drive. Prestwick Airport has many new routes from Europe and England, and the airport at Aberdeen has good links to Scandinavia and Northern Europe.

By Train By Train

Not the best mode of transport to get to Byres Road ever since the Botanic Gardens line that ran down Great Western Road was closed down many years ago, the closest station is Partick about a 10min walk down Dumbarton Road to reach the lower end of Byres Road, still a good option if you want an extended shopping trip taking in half of Partick!
By Car By Car

It must be said that parking on Byres Road isn't the best, and the traffic wardens are in full force. Try to get a space off one of the side streets. Most areas have parking meeters employed. There is a parking area next to Lillybank Gardens, just of Great George Street and another at the corner of Byres Road and University Avenue. Waitrose supermarket also has parking for their customers at the top of Byres Road down the side street next to the Hilton hotel. But there are plenty of bus routes to chose from, and many other underground stations to hop onto to get to Hillhead Station, even better, walk it if you live close enough.
By Underground By Underground

Hillhead Station is situated right in the middle of Byres Road, just next to Ashton Lane. Making it the most convenient spot to disembark, however Kelvinhall station will take you 2 minutes away from the bottom of Byres Road and Kelvinbridge station will take you about 8mins to get to the top of Byres Road and the Botanic Gardens.
